William F. Winn, Jr.

William "Billy" F. Winn, Jr., of Chester, age 85, entered eternal rest and a state of heavenly peace with God, on July 14, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his wife of just one day shy of 50 years, Beverly A. Winn; and his parents, William "Fred" F. Winn, Sr. and Elton Winn. He is survived by his children, Mark Winn (Kim), Erica Winn, Ron Rigney (Katie), and Janet Rigney; his grandsons, Stephen Winn (Brooke) and Damian Winn (Haley); great-grandson, Jace Winn; and brothers, Robert "Bobby" Winn (Nancy) and Lewis Winn (Lelia).

Billy served in the Air National Guard, and briefly worked for Overnight Transportation before a long career with Ford Motor Company, that took him from Richmond to Detroit to Atlanta, before retiring and returning home to Virginia, where he worked part time at Richmond Ford delivering parts before he decided he was okay with playing golf 'full-time.'

Billy was an avid golfer into his early 80s, still walking 18 holes well into his 70s and even having celebrated a hole in one not once, but twice at Meadowbrook Country Club.

Billy loved his Westerns, Country music (especially Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and Patsy Cline) and playing a good game of cards, but mostly he loved his family. He was compassionate and exceptionally generous, sharing his last name and helping raise several generations. Billy was kind to all he knew and believed in the best in all people. He is exceptionally loved and will be greatly missed.

Services for Billy will be private. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
