William "Billy" R. Purdy, Jr., 73, passed away on May 2, 2026. He is predeceased by his parents and his four siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy Purdy; children, Michelle Purdy, William R. Purdy III, and his wonderful wife, Angie, and Edward Purdy; grandchildren, Kevin Ford, Abby & Baylee Purdy, and Hunter Purdy. Billy retired from the City of Richmond after 42 years of dedicated service.
The family will accept friends at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A graveside service for Billy will be held at Sunset Memorial Park the following day, on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 10:00am.
