William "Bill" Peterson, Sr.

William "Bill" Peterson, Sr., of Chesterfield, Virginia, entered God's eternal rest on June 3, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mae Peterson. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, JoAnne; sons, Billy (Vickie), Jimmy (Stephanie); four grandchildren, Whitney, McKenzie (Bryce), Carter, and Emily; and great-grandson, Stetson.

Growing up in Armagh, Pennsylvania, Bill found the love of running track and working with competition horse racing. He joined the Navy and always enjoyed sharing stories of his time in the military. Bill had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting with his boys. He had a long career at Reynolds Metal for 44 years and had lifelong friends with his coworkers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bon Secours Hospice House, 1133 Old Bon Air Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23235. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
