Emblem

William E. Hudson, IV "Billy", 56 of Chester, VA, passed away on October 15, 2026. Billy was born on November 22, 1969 at John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell, VA. He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Hudson, III and his stepmother, Brenda Hudson; paternal grandparents, William E. and Selman Hudson; and his maternal grandparents, John and Marjorie Moore.

He was a long-time employee (facility manager) for CGL Facility Management for Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, where he as usual, developed many friends. Prior to that, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 14 years for which we are all grateful. Billy was a faithful member at Cameron Ave. Church of Christ in Colonial Heights, VA. He had a number of hobbies; his favorite was speed. He started racing motorcycles at about 6 years old and that's when he caught the fever that never broke. He's stayed involved in late model stock car racing for a good many years, and that's what led to him meeting one of his very best friends, Craig Oliver, whom he loved like a brother. Billy was a loving husband to his wife of 27 years, Sandy, whom he adored. He was also a devoted father to five sons, Jansen, Hunter, Logan, Travis and Trevor Hudson, to whom he raised up to be followers of Jesus Christ and good decent young men. Billy was also Paw Paw to two sweet little boys, Jasper and Oliver Hudson. He was a loving son to his mother and stepfather, John and Jimmie Kay Graves; a devoted brother to his four siblings, Cullen Hudson, Justin Hudson (Sarah), Brad Graves (Debi) and Chrissy Hudson. He is also survived by his aunt, Becky Buchanan along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
