William "Bill" Forbes

William "Bill" Forbes, 79, of McKenney, passed away on October 21, 2026. He was born and raised in Island Park, NY.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Henry LeClair; uncle, George "Scotty" Forbes; beloved daughter, Gretchen Forbes; and cherished son, Eric Forbes.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jennifer LeClair Forbes; his children, Barbara Christodoulou (George), Heather McWilliams (Beau), William Forbes II (Emily), and Matthew Forbes (Gwen); grandchildren, Costas, Vasily, Andreas, Nicolas, Adam, Emanuel, Xavier, Jillian, Ava Grace, Katie, Eric, Liam, and Clair; special in-laws, Paul and Lisa LeClair, Gerard and Denise LeClair; and nieces and nephews, Christopher, Amanda, Alyssa LeClair, Sydney, Gerard, Alex LeClair and Danny Forbes.

Bill attended Morning Side College in Sioux City, Iowa and was a retired Nassau County Police Officer. He was a member of the McKenney Ruritan Club and the Fraternal Order of Police. Bill found great joy in doing puzzles, computer gaming, reading, tomato gardening, telling tales and traveling.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 5270 Charles City Road, Three Chopt, VA 23231. The family will receive friends the day prior on from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to Samaritan's Purse or the Dinwiddie County Fire & EMS.
