William Glenn Boyette

William Glenn Boyette, 89, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Chavis Boyette.

Glenn arrived in Hopewell in 1954 as an 18-year-old from Johnston County, North Carolina. He found work as a pulp mill operator at the Hopewell papermill, now West Rock. He was a dedicated employee, working shift work for 47 years. Glenn was an active member of the community serving in several organizations such as the Optimist Club, the Big Brother program, and the Cub Scouts. He umpired for many local baseball leagues, coached in Pony League baseball, and was a longtime, devoted member of First Baptist Church.

Glenn is survived by his son, Rodney Glenn Boyette; daughter, Stacey Elizabeth Boyette; grandson, Kenneth Glenn Boyette; and great-grandson, Emerson Lee Boyette.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park.
