William "Bill" Allen

William "Bill" Allen, of Hopewell, VA, died on the morning of January 10th, 2026, at the age of 71. A devoted husband and caring son, he lived and passed in his own way-quietly, honestly, and true to himself.

Bill found his greatest contentment in the simple rhythms of life. He enjoyed time with family, shared moments that didn't need many words, and the steady comfort of familiar faces. When he wasn't with loved ones, he could often be found in the garage, working with his hands, fixing, building, or simply spending time in a place that brought him peace. It was there, and with those he loved, that Bill felt most at home.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Allen. He is survived by his father, Robert Allen; wife, Barbara Allen; stepson, Brandon Lamberson; his sisters, Linda Dunaway (Charles) and Janet Schmid (Rolf); and nieces and nephews-each of whom carries forward memories shaped by his presence, his independence, and his quiet devotion to living life his way.

He will be remembered for his authenticity, his steadiness, and the simple, meaningful way he moved through the world.

In keeping with Bill's wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral at this time. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date to honor him in a way that reflects the life he lived.
