Wayne A. Mitchell

Wayne A. Mitchell, a distinguished and cherished father figure, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, March 24, 2025, at his home in Midlothian, Virginia, at the age of 75. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Rena Mitchell; and his brother, Roy Mitchell. He leaves behind a loving family, including his siblings, Kim Mitchell and Sheila Romine (James); as well as two nieces, a nephew, their spouses; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Wayne also shared a special bond with Valerie Adkins, her daughters, Tiffany Palmer and Tara Cornett, and their children, who brought immense joy into his life.

Wayne was a man of quiet strength and independence, deeply valuing his privacy. However, those who had the privilege of knowing him well understood the depth of his compassion and generosity.

As a retired Senior Systems Engineer from Virginia Community College Systems, Wayne was respected for his exceptional intelligence, unwavering kindness, and steadfast faith.

In honor of Wayne's remarkable life, friends and family are warmly invited to a funeral service, led by Dr. Roger Crump, pastor of Powers Memorial Baptist Church, on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 4 pm, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
