Wanda Austin Reese

Wanda Austin Reese, 77, of Blackstone, VA passed away on July 12, 2026. Born in Crewe and residing in Dinwiddie, she is preceded in death by six brothers, Bill, Uzell, Abe, Buster, Phil, and Jim; and three sisters, Dorothy, Myrtle, and Tootsie.

Wanda was the devoted wife of William M. Reese, with whom she spent 59 years and 11 days of wedded bliss. She was the secretary for his company, W.M. Reese Mechanical, Inc., and poured her energy into the business and the family they raised together. She was a loving housewife, mother, and grandmother, and was known for her cooking and canning skills. She had an uncanny ability to grow and maintain beautiful flowers and plants. Wanda's greatest joy was spending time with her family, and they will cherish many fond memories of their time with her forever.

In addition to her husband, William M. Reese, Wanda is survived by two sons, Will Reese (Tammie) and Adam Reese (Amy); grandson, Jacob King (Tiffany); sisters, Jean Brandon and Juanita Felts; brother, Vernon Austin; sister-in-law, Nancy Echols; and beloved dog, Buddy.

The family will accept friends at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son on Wednesday, July 15, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held the next day, Thursday, July 16, at Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church, 7816 White Oak Road, Ford, VA 23850, beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Wanda's memory to Hawkins Memorial Presbyterian Church and/or the Dinwiddie Rescue Squad, 13850 Courthouse Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23831
