Wallace Melvin Horne was born in Grundy, Virginia on February 17, 1921 and departed this world on Easter morning March 31, 2013 to join our Savior in the mansion that had been prepared for him. Wallace leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Jeanette; a son, Michael Horne and wife, Debbie; one daughter, Wanda Clarkson and husband, Orville; a step-daughter, Yvonnda Sisk; a daughter-in-law, Holly Behen; four grandchildren, Brandon Clarkson and wife, Kandace, Preston Clarkson and wife, Sarah, Dustin Sisk, and Morgan Horne; one great-grandchild, Asher Clarkson; one sister, Edith Deel; a half sister, Etta Ruth; and a half brother, Frank. He was the son of the late Melvin and Pearl Jackson Horne, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Cecil; and a half sister, Juanita. Wallace retired from Allied Signal in 1986, after 24 years of service. He served his country honorably in the Army Air Corps during WWII and will join his fellow comrades at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013, with the Rev. Andy Paul, Pastor of River Edge Bible Church, and Mr. Horne’s Grandson, Rev. Preston Clarkson, officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
