With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Walker Isaac Kemp, 21, of Chester, Virginia, on October 22, 2026.
Born December 10, 2004, and raised in Midlothian, Virginia, Walker was the youngest of three children, growing up alongside his two older sisters, Averee and Maloree. He graduated from Manchester High School in 2023. He worked at Mid-Atlantic Source One since January 2025, specializing in low-voltage systems and programming.
Wise beyond his years, Walker possessed a gentle heart and a sensitive soul. To know him was to love him. He brought warmth and light to those around him, leaving cherished memories with family and friends who will forever mourn his loss.
Walker was the beloved son of Glendon Dale Kemp, Jr. (Diane) and Ashlee Lynn Costa (Chris). He is survived by his parents; sisters, Averee Angel Kemp and Maloree McKenzie Kemp; paternal grandmother, Mary Kemp; maternal grandparents, Pam and Ed Pape; Sammy and Shay Twiggs, and their daughter and lifelong friend, Mabrey; LaVon and Stacey VerHaeghe and their daughter, Elizabeth, and his beloved cat, Nala. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was dearly loved by the following families: the Graves' and Middleton's, the Goodhue's, the Peterson's, the Carraway's, the Decoskey's, the McLaughin's, and many, many others.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Glendon Kemp, Sr.
Though his life was far too brief, the love he gave and the lives he touched will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.
