Virginia "Ginny" Smith, 85, of Summerfield, Florida passed away October 29, 2013 at Sylvia's Hospice House in Ocala, Florida. She was born on February 12, 1928 in Keene, New Hampshire.
Ginny was a retired registered nurse. She moved to Summerfield from Chester, VA in 1993.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Wesley E. Smith of Summerfield, FL; four daughters, Andrea Lewis of Tallahassee, FL, Diane Boettcher of Apex, NC, Kelly Corell of Chattanooga, TN, and Jennifer Smith-Dakin of Cape Girardeau, MO; brother, William Mosher of Surry NH; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, Melanoma Fund, External Affairs Office, UNC-CA CB#7295, Chapel Hill, NC 27599-7295.
