Virginia Jones

Virginia Elsie Moneymaker Jones, 84, of Petersburg, passed away on Saturday August 11, 2012. Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Moneymaker, and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Douglas Jones. Virginia loved to cook and go fishing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Virginia is preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Leukhardt; sister, Sue Gotte; and brother, Clarence â??Skimpâ? Moneymaker. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Martin of South Boston, VA, and Linda Michalek and husband, Frank, of Chesterfield; five grandchildren, James â??Jimmyâ? Martin and wife, Becky, of South Boston, VA, Kristle Sloan and husband, Charles, of Hopewell, Selena Phillips and husband, Andrew, of Maryland, Frank Michalek, III and wife, Amy, of Chesterfield, and Lauren Hardesty and husband, Jonathan, of Maryland; seven great-grandchildren, Peyton and Shae Sloan, Hunter and Madison Michalek, Amelie and Kadyn Martin, and Lillian Phillips; brothers, Joe, Bailey, Roy, Tom, Frank, and Lewis Moneymaker, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday August 15, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday August 16, 2012 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Ivan Perkinson, officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery.
