Veta Suyes Creggar

Veta Suyes Creggar, 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. She was born to the late Ruth and John Suyes, Sr. Now peacefully resting in heaven, she joins her beloved grandson, Brandon McLean; and her siblings, Hannah Cralle, John R. Suyes, Jr., and Faith "Tashie" Longfield. She was a lifetime member of Sycamore UMC, spending many hours helping her church family. After her retirement, as a banker, she felt there was still more to be done and went to work at the Chesterfield Country Public School system, as a Special Education Instructional Assistant. After her school career ended, she continued feeding feral cat colonies until she went to Brighter Living. She was a kind and selfless soul and it was obvious from the work she did how much love and care she had within her to share with the world. Persons and animals alike were blessed to know her and wrapped in her caring arms. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Melody C. McLean and Joy C. Benfer; her adoring grandchildren, Brittany Jones, Brooke McLean, Jarrett Jones, and E. McLean; her beloved great-grandchildren, Milan Jones and Bentley Jones; and her three treasured cats; as well as her special nieces and nephews. A service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or your local animal shelter.
