Tsuruko Shima Kearchner, 88, of Hopewell, VA, met our Lord, on Tuesday February 9, 2021. Born in Tokyo, Japan she was the daughter of the late Masao & Haru Shima. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Frank D. Kearchner; brothers, Akihiro Shima, Hiroshi Shima (Yasuko); sister, Keiko Lawton. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Dennis) Carr, Joyce (Pat) Clyne ; grandchildren, Travis Carr (Chrissy), Julie Carr, Stephen Clyne, Daniel Clyne (Caitlyn), Jeffrey Clyne (Nicole); great-grandchildren, Brienne Carr, Callie Carr, Oliver Clyne, Matthew Clyne, Harper Carr; nephews, Masohiro Shima, and Yuichi Shima; nieces, Hiromi Shima, Kathryn Lawton; and special fur friend, J.J.; and numerous extended family members and friends. Tsuruko had a creative talent for writing Haiku. The family will hold a private memorial service later in the spring.
