Thomas D. "Tommy" Wilson, of McKenney, formally of Enon, died November 5, 2024. He was loved by his preceded parents, John and Virginia Wilson; and brother, John Wilson. Tommy retired from Honeywell Inc Hopewell, in 2011, after working 31 years with the best coworkers. Tommy coached Enon baseball and football teams for 10 years. He enjoyed working with the youth of the community. He was honored to be a deacon at Powers Memorial Baptist Church in Hopewell. He was an avid deer hunter, and enjoyed time at Lake Gaston fishing and enjoying lake life. In 2016, he moved to McKenney and lived the small town country life. Tommy's life was full of love for God, family, and friends.
He is survived by wife of 56 years, Karen Wilson, of McKenney; son, Jeffery Wilson (Tayloe), of McKenney; brother-in-law, Gary Beasley (Theresa), of Michigan City, Mississippi; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Beasley, of South Hill, Virginia, and Judy Wilson, of Texarkana, Arkansas; nephews, Rusty Wilson (Kris), of Texarkana, Texas, and Scott Beasley (Kim), of Tiffin, Iowa; niece, Jennifer Bing, of South Hill, Virginia; and numerous cousins and friends. Tommy had such special hospice nurses and caregivers the past few years, they became part of his family. Thanks to Keisha, Lori, Taylor, Autumn, Pam, and Amedisys staff.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Hopewell Chapel. There will also be a casual fellowship on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at the Wilson Residence. For information, please contact a family member.
