Born with a spirit of service and strength, Tom dedicated 20 honorable years to the United States Army, serving his country with unwavering commitment, courage, and integrity. His military career was marked by discipline, leadership, and a deep sense of duty that inspired all who knew him.
In his professional life, Tom continued to exemplify leadership and dedication as a project manager for 20 years. He brought the same integrity and discipline from his military service into the workplace, guiding teams with clarity, compassion, and a results-driven mindset. His ability to manage complex projects and foster collaboration made him a respected and valued colleague. Tom's work ethic and commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on those he worked with and the projects he led.
Tom was also a die hard sports fan, with unwavering loyalty to his favorite teams - the New York Mets, Jets, and Knicks. Whether it was baseball season, football Sundays, or basketball nights, Tom could always be found cheering on his teams with heart and hope. His love for the game was more than just fandom; it was a reflection of his enduring optimism and commitment. Through wins and losses, he remained faithful, sharing his enthusiasm with family and friends and creating lasting memories around every game.
At the center of his life was a deep and unwavering devotion to family. A steady presence, a source of wisdom, and a man of quiet strength, he anchored those around him with love and guidance. His generosity, gentle nature, and quiet wisdom will be profoundly missed, yet they continue to live on in the hearts and lives he so deeply touched.
Tom lived a life of purpose, kindness, and resilience. Whether in uniform or at home, he led by example - teaching us the value of hard work, loyalty, and love. He will be deeply missed by his beloved spouse, his children, grandchildren, siblings, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Dawn and Tonia; his children, Clifford, Victoria, Christopher, and Thomas; his grandchildren, Haydyn, Payton, Kaydyn, Dallas, and Jason; his siblings, Jean, Rosemary, Kevin, Mark, Maryann, Megan, and Edward.
A memorial service will be held at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Friday, October 31, 2025. Viewing will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., where friends and family will gather to honor Thomas O'Carroll's life and service. Interment will follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, Virginia, where Tom will be laid to rest with military honors.
