Teressa Hicks

Teressa Pulley Hicks, of Dinwiddie, VA, daughter of the late Samuel W. and Josephine Hogwood Pulley, was born in Ettrick, VA, on June 23, 1936.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 58 years, Sam L. "Dudy" Hicks; and her beloved children, Brenda C. Hicks, Glen L., and Gary C.; her beloved Yorkie, Abby; three brothers, Milton, Sam, and Claiborne; as well as three sisters, Christine Williams, Ethel Fayed, and Elizabeth Martin.

Teressa was a retired school bus driver, after driving for 30 years for Dinwiddie County schools.

She is survived by her beloved granddaughter, Michele H. Stender and husband, Rick; grandson, Jed L. Hicks and wife, Ashley; granddaughter, Lauren Hicks; great-granddaughter, Maisy Joy Hicks; great-grandson, Liam Samuel Stender; great-granddaughters, Lola Grace Stender and Lucy Violet Stender; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces; a great-nephew; friends, Troy Miller- who was like a son, Terry Tuner, and Betty Ellis; and many good neighbors.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 103 S. Adams St, Petersburg, VA, 23803; The family will receive friends one hour prior for visitation. Interment is to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Petersburg, VA, 23805.
