Tereesa Washington Posley

Tereesa "Tee'' Washington Posley was born to the union of Roosevelt Edgeston and Doris J. Hoda on April 24, 1954, in Ripley, Mississippi. She departed this earthly life on May 7, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her daughter and loved ones. Tereesa moved to Rockford, IL, in 1956, where she was educated through the Rockford School District system where she graduated from West High School then later attended Milwaukee Area Technical College in Milwaukee, WI. She worked for Nelson Knitting Company in Rockford, IL, for several years before moving to Freeport, IL, in 1999. In Freeport, she worked as a supervisor for Service Master. Tereesa has always been like the "Tree of Life" to everyone. She always reached out her loving heart, caring soul, and time to help others like tree branches filled with inspiration, love, prayers, hope, advice, support and wisdom, as she loved to make others happy, laugh and smile. She loved the Lord, her family, friends, coworkers, cooking, camping, music, and a nice ice-cold Coca-Cola.

Tereesa leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Doris J. Thompson, of Rockford, IL; one daughter, Tandra A. Edgeston, of Hopewell, VA; one sister, Helen D. Edgeston, of Rockford, IL; nine brothers, Charles C. Edgeston, of Rockford, IL, Elvis E. Edgeston (Sheheta), of Rockford, IL, Micheal J. Edgeston, of Rockford, IL, Carl S. Edgeston (Sharon), of Inglewood, CA, Daniel D. (Thelma) Edgeston, of Rockford, IL, Ricky A. Edgeston (Donna), of Rockford, IL, Kenneth C. Edgeston, of Rockford, IL, Ondrea L. Edgeston, of Rockford, IL, and Gary A. Edgeston (Jacqueline), of Rockford, IL; three grandchildren, Destaney D. Edgeston, of Petersburg, VA, Zavius S. Edgeston (Na'Quesheaun), of Midlothian, VA, and Sheontay S. Edgeston, of Chesterfield, VA; six great-grandchildren, Da'Marion D. Edgeston, Da'Marius K. Edgeston, La'Mya C. Egdeston, Nyla A. Edgeston, Ayura N. Copeland, and Perfect R. Edgeston; one great-great-grandson, Nimere D. Edgeston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Tereesa was preceeded in death by her father, Roosevelt Edgeston; brother, Benny Ray Edgeston; and stepfather, Daniel Thompson.
