It is with great sadness that the family of Sylvia C. Haddon announces her passing on January 12th, 2026 at the age of 85.
Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her three children, John Haddon III and wife Melinda, Joseph Haddon and wife Michele, and her daughter, Colleen Watson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Haddon, with whom she shared nearly 65 years of marriage. Sylvia will also be deeply missed by her seven grandchildren, as well as many friends and extended family who loved her dearly.
Sylvia was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Italian parents, and later moved to Richmond, Virginia, where she grew up. She was an amazing mother and a devoted grandmother, affectionately known as "Nana" by her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored.
Throughout her life, Sylvia held several jobs, including working at Thalhimers and later as a secretary at Metropolitan Insurance. She devotedly cared for her husband John, until his passing from pancreatic cancer in 2019.
During their retirement, Sylvia and John enjoyed many years traveling and camping with family, creating cherished memories and spending special time with their grandchildren. Sylvia also loved gardening, nurturing plants and she dedicated many years volunteering at Saint Francis Medical Center. She especially enjoyed the companionship of her beloved cat, Luna.
