Sylvia Talbott Clatterbuck, 75, formerly of Hopewell, passed away on Saturday January 19, 2013. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Garry H. Clatterbuck, a son, Garry Wade Clatterbuck, mother and step-father Margaret Elizabeth and Harvey Rose. She is survived by her daughters, Holly C. Gorse, her husband, Frank and their two daughters, Cameron and McKay Gorse, Lori C. Harris and her husband Tom, cousins, Jerry Whitehead and his wife Lena, Marie Hogwood and Shirley T. Edwards. She was a school crossing guard for the Hopewell Police Department, served as a Girl Scout Troop 731 Leader, and devoted countless years of service to the Hopewell Emergency Crew Ladies Auxiliary and the Bensley Bermuda Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary. In 1993 she was awarded Life Membership in the Auxiliary to the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads and served as president of that organization from 1999 to 2001. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park in Prince George.
