Susanne Maureen Schelling

Susanne Maureen Schelling, 75, of Wakefield, VA, passed away on October 19, 2026. Born in Jonesville, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lawrence and Maureen Mildred Schelling.

Susanne was married to Wayne Wescott for 20 years and James Haire for 30 years. Susanne is preceded in death by her son, Raymond Wescott (07/06/1976 - 02/19/2021). She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Wescott and Samantha Wescott; grandchildren, Bryson Wescott and Lilly Wescott; sister, Corinne Beth Schelling; nieces, Danielle Powell, and Amanda and Eric Roy; and grand-nieces, Sophia, Victoria, and Raegan Roy.

Susanne retired after 20 years of working as a Section 8 case manager. She loved cooking and canning and could always be found trying out a new recipe. Susanne also enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing, gardening, or camping. She was no stranger to a yard sale or thrift shop, as she liked to search for a great deal or unique treasure. Even while Susanne enjoyed being out in the world, she could not be torn away from the television when her K-Dramas were on. Her fun and caring spirit will be missed by all who loved her.
