Susan Walbert

Susan Walbert, age 82, of Fauquier, VA, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024. She was the daughter of the late David and Madeline Walbert.

Sue was the beloved librarian of Fauquier County High School, from where she retired after 30-plus years of service. She was an accomplished equestrian who showed horses and raised racehorses. Sue also loved to travel, having been all across Europe, China, and most recently, Australia. She was active in the Retired Teachers Association, Fauquier County Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity.

She is survived by her "adopted" daughter, Carolyn Marionneaux Perry and her family: husband, Stephen, sons Jay Perry and Sam Perry, and god-daughter Brooke Pepin; a brother, David Walbert (Charlotte); and three nephews, David Walbert, Christopher Walbert, and Michael Walbert.

In keeping with Sue's wishes, there will be no services. The family is being served by the Petersburg location of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fauquier County Public Library, at 11 Winchester Street in Warrenton, VA, may be made in Sue's memory.
