Susan Farmer

October 2, 1950 — November 9, 2025

Susan Farmer, 75, of Chester, VA, passed away on November 9, 2025, surrounded by family who loved her dearly, and who will be telling "Sue stories" for years to come.

Born on October 2, 1950, in San Francisco, CA, Sue spent most of her life raising her family and making a home full of personality, laughter, and the occasional bit of chaos. She was a loving wife who somehow managed to keep her boys fed, organized, and in line (depending on the day).

Sue gave her time and energy to the community as a member of the Enon Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, the Bensley-Bermuda Volunteer Rescue Squad, the American Legion Post 146, and the Cub Scouts of America Pack 922 in Enon. She worked as a phlebotomist for Virginia Blood Services and as a technician at Colonial Heights Medical Center. She enjoyed playing bingo, swimming in her pool, sewing, crafting, and collecting just about anything that caught her eye. She loved listening to music and could make anyone laugh with her quick humor and timing.

Her happiest moments were spent with her family, especially her sisters, and hosting pool gatherings where stories, snacks, and laughter were always plentiful.

Sue is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Larry; her sons, David and Jeff; and her siblings, Dennis, Linda, and Anne. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Lewis and her father, Tom Teubner. She was blessed with six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and lifelong best friend, Kathy.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, at 12 noon, where friends and family are invited to share memories, laughter, and maybe a few stories she'd have rolled her eyes at. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Following the funeral, interment will take place at Bermuda Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Enon Volunteer Fire Department or a local animal shelter.

Sue will be remembered for her humor, her love of family, and her one-of-a-kind spirit that made life a little brighter for everyone around her. Sue's family is grateful for the loving care provided by the staff of Bristol Hospice.
