Steve Ernest Wilkerson

Steve E. Wilkerson, 77, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Virginia Wilkerson; his brother, Roy Wilkerson; and his sisters, Shirley Cannon and Virginia Weatherferd.

Steve was a graduate of Colonial Heights High School. After high school, Steve went to work for the Virginia Department of Transportation for 43 years, where he was a District Radiation Safety Officer and an Engineer Tech. In his free time, he enjoyed Western Movies and Skeet Shooting.

Steve is survived by his former wife of 17 years, Vickie Wilkerson; children, Warren Jackson, Jennifer Brown, Shanna Cooper, Stephanie Jackson, Bonnie Robertson (Mike); several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends, including the staff and residents at the Dunlop House.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April, 23, 2026 at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dunlop House, 235 Dunlop Farms Blvd, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
