Stephen John Jacobs Sr.

MSG Stephen John Jacobs Sr. (Ret), 85 of Hopewell, died on Saturday January 23, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Katherine Urban Jacobs; his brothers, George Jacobs, John Jacobs, Joseph Jacobs. Stephen served his country proudly in the Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the military after 20 plus years of service. He was an avid gardener. Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Monica Jacobs; his daughters, Mary Ann Wolf, Janet McVey and her husband, Curtis; his sons, Stephen J. Jacobs Jr., James J. Jacobs; grandchildren, Christina, Michael, Rebecca; great-grandchildren, Curtis, Brennan, Mary Beth, Evelyn; sister, Helen Kubasek; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm with a Rosary service to be held at 6pm on Wednesday January 27, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2pm on Thursday January 28, 2016 at the Church of the Sacred Heart 9300 Community Lane Petersburg VA 23805, with interment to follow in Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.
