Shirley Owen Pride

S. Owen Pride of Cordele passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 in Crisp Regional Hospital at the age of 93. Born in Chesterfield County, VA, he was the son of the late Norman Augustus Pride and Florence Adelaide Varnier Pride. He was educated in Colonial Heights and Petersburg Public Schools and attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He was the Public Relations Manager for CSX Transportation in Jacksonville, FL before retiring in 1986. Owen is survived by several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, David Northrup, Jr. of Warwick and Monica Watson of Ashburn. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Virginia Veteran's Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
