Sherman Delmor Milam

July 14, 1939 — December 7, 2024

Sherman Delmor Milam, born in Charleston, West Virginia, on July 14, 1939, passed in his Prince George County home, on the seventh of December, 2024. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and army veteran. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Viva Milam; wife, Marie; brothers, Stanley and Larry; sister, June; and a grandson, Christopher Hawkins. Sherman is survived by his siblings, Roy (Mary) Milam, Darryl (Regina) Milam, Joan (Dale) Walker, Barbara Jean Milam, Delma "Sis" (Michael) Rutkowski, and Teddy Milam; children, David Milam, Eddie (Crystal) Milam, and Kimberly (Jerry) Burcham; and stepdaughter, Katherine Chicas; grandchildren, Kenneth (Jenny) Pittman, Jason (Missy) Covey, Scottie Milam, Sara Milam, Brittany (Kenny) Harding, Kaitlin (Justin) Pegram, Michael (Courtney) Tuck, Casey Hawkins, Sherman Milam, and David Milam; as well as, fourteen great-grandchildren. He was a man who loved hunting, sports, his garden, and his family most of all. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off of his back, loved a good joke, and the sunshine. You could always find him outside in the summer - either in his lawn chair, taking a dip in the pool, or tending his garden. If you had the pleasure of knowing him, sharing a beer with him, or spending time at the fire barrel - you got to be in the presence of a truly amazing man.

He fought until his very last breath. To know him was a gift and to be loved by him was an honor.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to his hospice nurse, Crystal, for her devotion to him and his family. He truly loved you and you brightened his day.
