Sharon Zerbe Newman

Sharon Zerbe Newman, 69, of Chester, VA, passed away on October 3, 2026. Born in Chincoteague, VA, she was the daughter of Alton R. Zerbe and the late Elizabeth O'Riley Zerbe. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Casey Newman; eleven children; sixteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was a wife, mother, homemaker, store clerk at Spencer's and Whistlestop, and manager of Dairy Queen.

Sharon enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking, gardening, and family get-togethers. She was a Master Gardener of Virginia Cooperative Extension, Chesterfield County.

Sharon is preceded in death by her brother, Ken Zerbe, and grandson, Shane Newman.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 West Hundred Road, Chester, VA.
