Sharon Brieling, 77, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on August 4, 2025. Born in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Willie Davis and Agnes Frasier. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, William Davis. She is survived by her son, Anthony Brieling (Stephanie); her daughter, Jeannette Brieling; her grandchildren, Mike Metheny, Christopher Clark, Savannah Fleshman, Anthony Fleshman, Timothy Fleshman, and Edward Fleshman; her sisters, Margaret Woodlief and Peggy Vivas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sharon never met a stranger in her life. She was known to strike up conversations with just about anybody, and she was always willing to help others in need. Sharon was a member of Cawson Street Church of Christ and volunteered in her earlier years at Tricities Hospital, formerly John Randolph. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, and she tried to get outside as much as she could to garden, fish, and do yardwork. Sharon loved caring for her family and found joy in babysitting both her own children and others. She was known to take her children traveling to the mountains or beach, always wanting to spend quality time with her loved ones.
A funeral service for Sharon will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. The family will accept friends the day prior, Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the Hopewell Chapel, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
