Sammy Edward Kay, 58, of Prince George, passed away on Saturday December 8, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Royston & Martha Bundy Kay; several brothers and one sister. Sammy was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps attaining the rank of SSgt prior to separation. Following separation from the Marine Corp, he graduated from George Mason University. He was a man of many talents, such as fishing, cooking, repairing cars and loved spending time with his many friends and family. He was a fighter for veteran’s benefits and set a precedent for all veterans when applying for benefits. He was a self employed insurance salesman and at the same time assisted seniors with Medicare benefits. He is survived by his beloved wife, Monica M. Kay, of Prince George; daughter, Tiffany M. Kay; grandson, DeMarreo Wilson both of Hopewell; step children, Alicia Melton of Maryland and Naysha Kane, of Prince George; and brothers, Wayne Kay of Richmond, Randolph & Robert Kay of Fredericksburg, and Claude Kay of SC; as well as their extended family. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, December 15, 2012, 2:00 p.m., in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
