Ryan Sean O'Connor

Ryan Sean O'Connor, 38, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Stephanie O'Connor; his children, Ryan "RJ" Sean O'Connor, Jr. (9) and Aubrey Kate O'Connor (6); his parents, Howard and Kathryn O'Connor; his sisters, Lauren Bisner (Bryce Bisner) and Kristin O'Connor; his niece, Harper Bisner; his father-in-law, Dave Saller; his mother-in-law, Michelle Traylor (Scott Traylor); and many other loving family members and friends.

Ryan attended VCU, where he was a founding father of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He proudly served as Postmaster for the Emporia, VA USPS. Beyond his work, Ryan found joy in playing pickleball, relaxing at the beach, and especially coaching baseball. He was a devoted father, always present for his children, and a passionate baseball coach who loved mentoring young players and sharing his love of the game. His impact on the field and in the community will not be forgotten.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Petersburg, VA, at Noon, on Monday, September 29, 2025. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brunswick Academy in his children's names to support their education, or to the Brunswick Youth League in honor of Ryan's passion for coaching and his love for the children of the community.
