Ruth Wise

Ruth Lawson Wise, 85 of Chester, passed away October 13, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Powell and Julia James Lawson and was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Josefina Lee. Ruth was employed by the United States IRS and retired after 30 plus years of service. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Glence Wise Jr.; children, Gwendolyn Varner and husband Addison, Jr., Glence Wise III and wife Jonetta, Sonya W. Roberts and husband Edward; grandchildren, Adamia, Charity, Robin, Benjamin and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Dominique, Baobab, Jordana, and Christian; brother, David Lawson and wife June; sister, Bernice Perry and husband Ernest; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Chester chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 10 am with Minister Greg Lewis, officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
