SSG Rudolph Valentina Barber, III, 34, of Petersburg, VA, passed away on June 30, 2013. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rudolph V. Sr., and Christine Elizabeth Armstrong-Barber; and his maternal grandfather, Robert Harrell. Rudy was the President of the Westside Rydaz and was known as 2% the Milkman. He was currently serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Lee where he held the rank of SSG, and was also an instructor at the Ordinance School. He had been previously stationed three times in Korea, and also stationed at Ft. Carson, CO, Ft. Polk, LA, Ft. Rucker, AL, Ft. Gordon and Ft. McPhearson GA. Rudy is survived by his parents, Rudolph V. Jr., and Vicky M. Barber; his wife, Heather L. Barber; four children, Rudolph Valentina Barber IV, Amya Shari Barber, Taejon Dakar Barber, and Ezekiel Barnes; three sisters, Geri Dawn Wallen, Tiffany Harnita Williams, Roshanda Campbell; a brother, James Redman; his maternal grandmother, Ivey Esther Harrell; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and all the members of the Westside Rydaz. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 in the Ft. Lee Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
