Rose Marie Ellis

Rose Marie Ellis, 77, of Colonial Heights, stepped out into eternity to meet the Lord who loved her and died to redeem her, on Monday, March 3, 2014. After eight years of joyful marriage to Charles Ellis, God took her home after a very brief period, following a debilitating stroke. She died peacefully in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on October 1, 1936, in Praise, Kentucky, and raised in Haysi, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late, Ernest and Zinnia Hill. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Oris “Buddy” Oliver Wyatt; second husband, Charlie Bryant. Rose was a devoted Christian believer and served her Lord in several capacities at both, Enon Baptist Church in Chester, and Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Charles Ellis; children, Jackie Richardson, Michael Wyatt and his wife, Kimberly, Kimberly Young and her husband, David; grandchildren, Alan Wyatt and his wife, Kayla, Ashley Wyatt and Caitlyn Richardson; great-grandchild, Luke Wyatt. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park.
