Robert "Bob" Ernest Toncray, 77, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on January 6, 2026, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Bob was born on April 28, 1948, to Claire and Ernest Toncray. Raised in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Bob eventually settled down in Richmond, Virginia, where he worked as a meter reader and, after obtaining a business degree from VCU, took a job at Virginia Power as a Service Representative. He had a myriad of hobbies and always said that if there was something he couldn't do, it was because he hadn't tried it yet. He was known by many names, particularly Britannica Bob, Pioneer Bob, and the Happy Hippie Farmer; to his wife Brenda, he was always her honey bear.
Bob was survived by his loving wife Brenda; his first wife, Sharon and their three children, Rachael, Shalor, and Molly; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claire and Ernest; and his younger brother, Gene Toncray.
