Robert "Tyler" Shook, Jr., age 39, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on March 2, 2026. Born on January 15, 1987 to Rhonda Stell-Pace and the late Robert T. Shook, Sr., Tyler's life was a powerful testament to courage, faith, and enduring love.
Tyler fiercely loved the Lord and lived his life with a quiet strength that inspired everyone who knew him. Though he faced the daily challenges of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, he met each obstacle with the heart of a warrior and the spirit of a true champion. To his family, he was nothing less than their hero - their Superman.
He found joy in life's beautiful details: creating art, listening to music, solving puzzles, traveling, wrestling, and sharing a special love for upstate New York. Tyler also had a tender heart for his beloved cats who brought him constant comfort and companionship.
More than anything, Tyler loved his family deeply. He is survived by his devoted mother, best friend and caregiver, Rhonda Stell-Pace; stepfather, Michael Pace; his beloved siblings, Caylah Shook, Roman Acord, Seth Pace, and Trent Pace; sister-in-law, Heather Shook; niece, Kyra; and family and friends who stood beside him throughout his journey; as well as the nurses that were his angels here on earth, Ed, Beth, Bev, and Rodney, and others along his journey. Through his courage and gentle spirit, Tyler taught those around him the true meaning of compassion, perseverance and unconditional love. Because of him, they are better people.
While his earthly battle has ended, Tyler's legacy of strength and faith lives on in every heart he touched. He will be profoundly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Tyler is now free from the bounds of a wheelchair and walks joyfully with the angels - healed, whole, and at perfect peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior.A visitation for friends and family will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 6pm to 8pm at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
