Robert M. Mcdaniel

Robert “Gunner” Milton McDaniel 79, of Colonial Heights VA, passed away on Wednesday August 20, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur E. and Mary Sutherland McDaniel; wife, Virginia “Jenny” McDaniel; daughter, Deborah K. Blackmon; brother, A.C. McDaniel; sister, Joann McCulley. Robert served his country proudly as a Marine in the military and retired from the Union Millwrights Local #1402. He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion, and enjoyed traveling, football especially the Washington Redskins and spending time with his family and friends. Robert is survived by his daughters, Pam Deal and her husband, Martin, Cindy Vergara and her husband, Joe, Kelli McDaniel and her fiancé, Brian Allison; son, Jack M. Blackmon; grandchildren, Wendy, Donnie, Whitney, Lindsay, McKenzie, Lauren; great-grandchildren, Austin, Brooke, Brennan, Maddie, Leighton, Hannah, Harper, Fia; sister, Betty Thore and her husband, Howard; cousin, Kathleen Volk; brother-in-law, Ralph McCulley; very special friend, Lou Kaleyta; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday August 23, 2014 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
