Robert Hollis, Jr.

Robert "Bob" Hollis, Jr. of Spring Grove, VA, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2026, in his home with his loving wife by his side.

Bob was born in Bussac, France, on January 6, 1956. He was a citizen of the United States and France. He was a resident of Surry, VA, for 36 years. He retired from Colonial Heights Packing Co after over 30 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. Hollis, Sr. and Patricia Brown.

There was no kinder or more generous soul than Bob Hollis.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gayle Hollis; his stepson, Rob Jackson; and his precious JRT dog who adored Bob.

Bob was an avid sportsman. He loved deep sea fishing out of Cape Hatteras - where his cremated remains will be at peace - and duck hunting. He had a gift in mathematical abilities and was a tutor to many college students.

Bob was a great husband and will be missed by all that knew him.
