Robert Blocher Darling, Jr.

Robert Blocher Darling, Jr., born March 29, 1944, departed this life on January 30, 2023, after several years of declining health. Robert was the son of the late Robert B. Darling, Sr. and Virginia H. Darling, of Hopewell, VA, where Robert grew up. He is survived by his son, Robert Blocher Darling III; and daughter, Katherine D. Jones, both of Richmond. He is also survived by a brother, W. Stuart Darling, of Williamsburg. Four grandchildren survive him, Ashley Allen, of Dallas, TX, and Steven Carlton, Justin Conway, and Logan Darling, all of Richmond. He had a great-grandson, Jaden Conway, also of Richmond. Robert loved his family. He ran his own small sales and advertising business in Richmond for many years. He was a generous and self-reliant man. A private burial service took place on February 3, 2023, at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
