Richard B. Wray

Richard Birdell Wray, 61, of Chester passed away on May 10, 2013 after a difficult 3 year battle with lung cancer. He was the son of the late Thomas Raymond and Mildred Eyler Wray and was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Charles Waddell Wray. Mr. Wray is survived by his wife of 40 years, Phyllis Wray; a son, Billy Wray; two sisters, Diane Vinesett and husband, Bruce, and Tina Dobrick and husband, Johnny; three brothers, Ronald Wray, Kenny Wray and wife, Lynda, and Jeff Wilmoth; three brothers-in-law, Eugene Mathis, Paul Mathis, and J.L. Edwards; one sister-in-law, Colleen Wray; his three loving Chihuahuas; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends, and one very special niece, Shannon Spears and husband, Jason; and two great-nephews, A.J. and Austin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Margaret Kutz, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
