Richard Francis Papcun

Richard Francis Papcun, 79, died on Sunday, January 28, 2024. He was born in Cleveland, OH, to the late Frank Albert and Dorothy Papcun. He is survived by his former wife and friend, Karen D. Phares; his daughter, Cara Mathews and husband, Warren; his son, Rick Papcun and wife, Genevieve; his step-son, David R. Phares III; his grandchildren, William Mathews, Abigail Papcun, and Matthew Papcun; as well as his siblings, Ronald L. Papcun, Gregory A. Papcun, and Mary Ann Papcun; sister-in-law, Onita E. Daniel; and brother-in-law, Kirk W. Elam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at The Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 9300 Community Lane, Petersburg, VA 23805. The family will receive friends to gather for visitation, one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Trinity Hospice, 812 Moorefield Park Dr #110, Richmond, VA 23236.
