Richard Ryland Baugh

Richard R. Baugh, 81, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on the morning of October 12, 2026. Born on April 17, 1945, in Richmond, Virginia, he was the son of the late William Thomas Baugh and Selma Edith Elliott. Richard spent most of his life working in the automotive industry as a Body & Fender specialist, ultimately retiring from Strosnider Chevrolet after 40 years of dedicated service.

Known for his unwavering devotion to his loved ones, Richard was a genuinely kindhearted man who truly possessed the patience of Job. He found contentment in life's simplest pleasures: a good meal, a cold glass of sweet tea, a delicious dessert, sitting on the front porch, and spending Sundays in his recliner watching NASCAR and the First Baptist Church service. He had a servant's heart, always willing to do anything for anyone, giving generously of his time without ever expecting anything in return. Whether he was fishing, hunting, or tending to his garden, Richard embraced the quiet beauty of the world around him.

His legacy will live on through his four daughters, Denise Baugh, Amy Barnett, Chris Hairfield (Delton), and Melanie Bilter (Pat). He was the cherished "Papa" of 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Thomas A. Baugh (Kay). Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Marjorie (Margie), and his sister, Bessie Lee Gold.

A service for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Washington Memorial Park.
