Raymond P. Storey

August 29, 1932 — November 20, 2025

Raymond P. Storey, 93, of Whiting, NJ passed away after a short illness, November 20, 2025. Born in New York City, he grew up in Dover, NJ and graduated from Dover High School in 1950. 

Raymond proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Poust in 1952, and together they raised two sons; Richard of Prince George, VA, and Ralph, of Springville, TN. He worked primarily in the insurance industry, first as a life insurance salesman, and later as a loss control representative. Throughout his life, Raymond served his community as a volunteer fire fighter and rescue squad member. He also participated in and led many worthwhile organizations such as the American Legion, The Elks Club, Rotary International to name a few. After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed traveling the world to such exotic locales as China, Scandinavia, and the Galápagos Islands! Even in later years, he served as a driver for the Manchester, NJ Rescue Squad and headed up clothing drives for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. 

He is survived by two sons, Ralph and Richard; sister, Mary Karyl Vargas, five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

A service for family and close friends will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Steven's Episcopal Church, 180 County Road 539, Whiting, NJ 08759. Burial will be at the convenience of the Family at the Amelia Virginia Veterans Cemetery Columbarium.
