Preston Vaughan Reed

May 6, 2002 — Sep 28, 2026

Preston Vaughan Reed, 24, of North Dinwiddie, VA, died September 28, 2026. Born on May 6, 2002, and raised in North Dinwiddie, VA, he was the son of Stacey Lynn Vaughan Reed and Jerry Lee Reed, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Linda Poarch Vaughan, Larry Vaughan, Sr. and Sharon Reed; and his uncle, Kenneth Hayward.

He is survived by his parents, Stacey and Jerry; his brother, Hunter (Hannah); grandparents, Jerry Lee Reed, Sr. and Anita Hayward (Eric); aunts and uncles, Shannon Taylor (Rusty), Josie Haire (Josh), Sharon Vaughan, Chris Vaughan (Sheri), and Darryl Vaughan (Bonnie); as well as many other extended family members.

Affectionately known as "Presto," "Presto Penguin," "Big Pres," "P," and even "PRESTO POOTAH POT," he loved his family, his friends, and his two cats, Onyx and Bunny. He graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 2020 and worked at Gerdau as a Caster Operator. Preston cared deeply about his work and took great pride in the responsibility he carried in his role. He put genuine effort into doing his job well and was proud of what he accomplished. His dedication and commitment to doing things right reflected the kind of person he was.

Presto loved his friends as his own family and felt very deeply. He was fiercely loyal to the people he loved and stood by them through every circumstance. Once someone became part of his life, they could count on his friendship, his support, and his unwavering presence. He was an avid gamer who loved spending time playing his PlayStation and PC, getting lost in the games he enjoyed and sharing that passion with the friends he loved so much.

He especially enjoyed spending time with the friends he considered his brothers, Brandin "B" Bordeaux, Hunter Wright, and Nash Costley, as well as his love, Taylar Baker, and a host of other people who became family to him. Presto had a way of making everyone in the room smile. He had a natural way of bringing joy to the people around him, often with his humor, his playful personality, or simply the way he made others feel welcome. His infectious laugh and sky-blue eyes will be deeply missed.
