Phyllis Reish

Phyllis Ann Taylor Reish, 93, of Hopewell, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Taylor and Bertha Mann Taylor Harvey; her loving husband of 60 years, Vaughn A. Reish; her brothers, Francis "Sonny" Weaver and Roy Weaver; her sisters, Bertie Littlejohn and Evelyn Warren; and her brother-in-law, David Warren.

Phyllis was a graduate of Hopewell High School. She was employed as an office manager for Dunnington Motor Company and later Strosnider Chevrolet in Hopewell until she was over 80 years old. Phyllis was also a longtime member of West End Presbyterian Church in Hopewell, where she taught Sunday School, was chairman of a circle, prayer warrior, and other groups and organizations. She has been a faithful member of Western Heights Baptist Church in North Dinwiddie for the last 13 years.

Phyllis will be remembered as a faithful servant of the King of King, Lord of Lords, as well as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Timothy A. Reish (Diane); daughter, Joy Fleetwood-Haynes; grandchildren, Calvin Brown, Tanya Fleetwood, Tara Abarca-Fleetwood (Irvin), Charity Reish Marshall (Daniel), and Joshua A. Reish; seven great grandchildren; sister, Linda Hoover (James); and sisters-in-law, Jean Weaver, Carol Weaver, Glenda Lowell, and Virginia Rupert.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Western Heights Baptist Church, 24416 Cox Road, Petersburg, VA 23803, where a funeral service will be held the following day, Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Western Heights Baptist Church or North Pointe Christian Academy.
