Philip Mark Cobb, 71, of Waverly passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Mr. Cobb served his country in the United States Navy for ten years. He retired in 2000 from St. Juliens Creek in Norfolk after 39 years of employment. He was the son of the late Frank Clyde Cobb and Dorothy Marie Cobb.
He survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy Lee Cobb; sons, Mark Cobb and Lucas David McCarthy; sisters, Janet Stueve of Dayton, OH, and Carol Gillentine of Greensboro, NC; three nephews and one niece.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd., Amelia, VA 23002. The Wakefield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home is serving the family. Condolences may be posted at www.jtmorriss.com .
