Percy Elton Byrum

Percy Elton Byrum, Jr., of Carson, VA, passed away on April 4, 2026. Born in Isle of Wight, he was the son of the late Selma and Percy Byrum, Sr. He is survived by his sons, Roy Wayne (Millie), Samuel Elton (Vickie), and Lynwood Dale (Dawn); his grandchildren, Teresa (Jason), Kelly (Chris), Tim (Kim), Jamie (Carleigh), Matt (Emily), Daniel (Ashley), and Morgan (Nick); and 17 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Majorie Lee Byrum, his daughter, Nancy Lynn Burt, and his granddaughter, Brooke Byrum. As an avid farmer, he spent his free time hunting, fishing, and relaxing by the river. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9 at Newville Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with a visitation an hour prior and an internment to follow.
