Peggy Hatchell Burnett

Peggy Hatchell Burnett, 71, passed away on Tuesday, November, 5, 2013. Born in Hopewell, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late, James Howard and Lillian Cibula Hatchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Randolph Burnett. Peggy graduated from Hopewell High School in 1960. She was employed with Suntrust Bank where she later retired after many years. Peggy was a devoted and faithful member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Thomas and her husband, Bruce; son, Randy Burnett and his wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Cameron Thomas, Casey Thomas, and Will Burnett; and numerous other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends today from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
