Paul Simpkins

Paul Simpkins, 87, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 5, 2025. Born in Blackwolf, WV, but raised in Skygusty, WV, he is the son of the late Annie May Turpin Simpkins and Grayson "Buck" Elmer Simpkins; he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Scott (Homer) and Mary Harris (Thomas).

Paul graduated from Gary High School in Gary, WV, in 1958. A devoted worker, he was employed with Firestone/Allied Chemical/Honeywell for 36 years until the plant closed in 2000. Paul had a love for camping, fishing, boating, and sports, especially supportive of Lloyd C. Bird High School football and basketball. For the last 18 years, he has also spent his free time feeding homeless cats in the community.

Mr. Simpkins is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mable Louise Walk Simpkins; his children, Cindy E. Simpkins (Jerry), Steven P. Simpkins (Shelley), and Gary D. Simpkins (Deanie); siblings, Kent Simpkins (Joanne), James Simpkins (BK), and Sandra Brodock. A celebration of life ceremony is being planned for a later date. The family will be having a private visitation on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morrisss & Son Funeral Home.
